CAFFSA welcomes several measures in the 2026–27 Federal Budget aligning with priorities raised in our Federal Pre-Budget Submission, including investment in prevention and early intervention, Aboriginal-led services, housing support for vulnerable young people, responses to family, domestic and sexual violence and investment in early childhood disability and developmental supports through the Thriving Kids initiative (offset by new restrictions on access to the NDIS). Continued investment will be needed to ensure children, young people and families can access support early, before challenges escalate into crisis.
