Understanding the interplay between neurobiology, attachment trauma, and mental health
March 27 @ 10:00 am - 3:00 pm
$275.00What is this training about?
This session provides a definition of neurobiology, trauma and attachment theories. It also delivers an understanding of the correlation and integration of these, as they relate to emotional and behavioural issues in children and adolescents with a mental health diagnosis.
A clear understanding of the impact of complex relational trauma will be emphasised as central to understanding this interplay of theory.
Within the workshop there are multiple points of conceptual integration, which is important when assessing, formulating and providing therapeutic clinical assessment and intervention to children.
Relational theories with a focus on physiological safety, will be presented and explored with reference to reparative clinical intervention with children and the adults and systems who care for them.
This training is aimed at people working and supporting infants, children, young people and their families who have experienced trauma and, in particular, practitioners working in mental health services or services providing interventions for children with complex needs.
