CAFFSA Training Values Statement
Our core values are reflected in all of our work
We believe quality training provides a strong foundation for resilient, confident, and competent workers
We believe that the use of a relational framework in our training provides opportunity to learn about; ourselves, our clients, our teams. It enables us to remain curious, attach meaning to new learning and facilitate connection
We ensure all training has a strong theoretical foundation that is linked to best practice approaches that include, trauma informed, culturally safe and child aware practices
We believe in training that is grounded in sector experience and have a strong commitment to work in partnership with our CAFFSA members and government agencies
We are committed to robust, tailored, and flexible training that is grounded in real practice examples, tools, strategies and templates
The CAFFSA Difference
- We use a relational framework that is trauma informed and includes all aspects of the person being supported
- Our training provides a context about how professional values and ways of communication impact upon service delivery
- Our training grounds relevant theories and frameworks by utilising real practice examples, tools, strategies, and templates.
- Our training also focuses upon individual professional benchmarks and ethical accountability that may sit outside a general organisational policy.
Beyond workshop participation our training encourages:
- Participants to speak with leadership about what they have learnt during the training and work together to create change
- Participant to build up trust and connections with their peers and leaders so that they can work together building up their knowledge base. We encourage participants to learn from and support each other. We call it Peering Up
- Participants to incorporate training resources in their supervision and everyday practice
